Our journey didn't start in a roasting lab; it started halfway across the world. While stationed in Japan with the United States Air Force, I discovered that coffee was more than a caffeine delivery system, it was a craft. I experienced cups that were vibrant, exciting, and incredibly clear. For my family and me, coffee became a daily ritual of discovery.

The Search for the Clean Cup

When we returned home to the States two years ago, we hit a wall. We searched the local landscape for that same excitement, but everything felt heavy, bitter, or "burnt." I realized that the "clean cup" I had fallen in love with, the kind that lets the bean's true origin shine, was missing from our community.

I decided to take matters into my own hands. I knew that to get the clarity I wanted, I had to embark on a journey to master the Fluid Bed Roasting method. Unlike traditional drum roasters that can sometimes scorch the beans on hot metal, our process uses a high-velocity stream of hot air. The beans "float" on a bed of air, roasting evenly and shedding the chaff instantly. The result? A cup of coffee as clean and refreshing as living water.

From Farmers Markets to Your Morning

We started small, sharing our roasts at local farmers markets. The response was immediate, we were selling out every weekend because, as it turns out, our neighbors were also looking for a better way to start their day.

Today, Living Water Roasters is our way of bringing that international standard of excellence home to you. We aren't just roasting beans; we’re showing our community what coffee should taste like.
