Every cup of Living Water Roasters coffee begins long before the roast. It starts in a specific place, at a specific altitude, tended by specific hands. We believe that knowing where your coffee comes from changes how you experience it. So today, we're pulling back the curtain on three of the remarkable regions behind our current offerings.
Radiant Stream [Tarrazú, Costa Rica]
Processing: Honey | Altitude: 4,200–5,900 ft | Tasting Notes: Tangerine, Red Apple
Nestled in the mountains south of San José, Tarrazú is one of the most celebrated coffee growing regions in the world, and for good reason. The combination of rich volcanic soil, cool temperatures, and dramatic altitude swings creates ideal conditions for slow cherry development, which translates directly into complexity in the cup.
Our Radiant Stream is honey-processed, meaning the coffee cherry's fruit mucilage is left on the bean during drying. This imparts a natural sweetness and body that you'll notice immediately, bright tangerine acidity that gives way to a crisp red apple finish. It's a coffee that feels alive in the cup.
Summit Spring [Estelí, Nicaragua]
Processing: Washed | Altitude: 3,600–5,200 ft | Tasting Notes: Creamy, Velvety
Nicaragua's Estelí region sits in the northern highlands, where cooler temperatures and consistent rainfall create a growing environment that rewards patience. Farmers here have long cultivated coffee with a quiet dedication that shows up in every bag.
Summit Spring is fully washed, the fruit is removed before drying, allowing the bean's inherent character to shine without interference. The result is a remarkably clean, smooth cup with a creamy body and velvety mouthfeel that makes it endlessly drinkable. Whether you're brewing your first cup of the morning or your third, Summit Spring meets you where you are.
Ancient Spring [Santander, Colombia]
Processing: Washed | Altitude: 4,200–5,400 ft | Tasting Notes: Milk Chocolate, Almond
Colombia's Santander department is one of the country's oldest coffee-growing regions, with a tradition stretching back generations. Unlike the more widely exported coffees from Huila or Nariño, Santander offers something quieter and more grounded, a coffee that speaks in warm, familiar tones.
Ancient Spring is washed and grown at altitude, producing a cup that's balanced and comforting. Rich milk chocolate notes are layered with a gentle almond finish, the kind of coffee that pairs perfectly with a slow morning and a good book. It's approachable without being simple, and satisfying without being heavy.
Why Origins Matter to Us
At Living Water Roasters, we don't source coffee by commodity, we source it by story. Each of these regions has a distinct climate, culture, and craft that makes its way into your cup. When you choose a single-origin coffee, you're not just choosing a flavor profile; you're choosing to connect with the land and the people who grew it.
We'll be sharing more origin stories in the weeks ahead, including the natural-processed lots from Ethiopia and Sumatra that round out our current lineup. Stay tuned, and as always, thank you for drinking with intention.
